My Path
My path to spirituality has been blessed with an open mind and heart and parents who insisted that I experience as many faiths as possible before making a choice as to which faith was the best fit. This journey took many forms from learning the spiritual beliefs of the American Indians, to attending churches ranging from Catholic, Mormon and nearly every other Christian denomination. Along the way, I also learned of the paths explored by others of a more mystical nature and began the study of comparative religions.
I Believe
Ultimately, I came to believe that most paths and religions lead to a similar destination, and they seek to better each individual for the greater good and in that way honor our creator. I believe that no one religion has sole claim to have the only just and good moral compass for the good of all. It is up to each of us as individuals to strive to be the best person we can can be and to treat others with dignity and respect along that way. Most of all we should strive to be able to lead by example, and keeping a purity of our body, mind and spirit is the best path to being able to achieve that goal. "Do as I say, not as I do" should have no place in our lives spiritually if we do not hold true to our own principles. We are all imperfect beings, but with every new sunrise, we have the chance to better our selves and our world through the choices we make and the actions we undertake.
My Community
This is a community of like-minded individuals who come to it from many other religious and spiritual communities, yet all share a desire to be a part of a larger group striving for religious freedom, social justice and the ability to express our spirituality in a positive manner.
